Rock and Roll found it's roots in the mid 50's and carried over strong into the 60's along with many wild and crazy fads. Let's take a walk down memory lane.

Fall Out Shelters carried over from the 50's, Remember we were supposed to get under our desk at school in case of a nuclear explosion.

Instead as teens we turned to music....... Our parents wanted to hide under the desk.

"The Twist" was the first dance that couples did not hold on to each other to dance.   Seperation !!!!

Just a glimps at some of the fads from years past.

The 1960's

khsclasspicsbanne1r.jpg

For the school year 1964/65 the new KHS opened it's doors (pictured above), with almost 2,000 students from 10th to 12th grades. The Baby Boomers have arrived in huge numbers. The 60's was the start of so much. Music, voters rights act, civil rights, walking picket lines to let our government know that we wanted changes... The space race continues and by 1969 we landed on the moon...

And the Hippies walked amoung us....
